Anna's Restaurant is a pretty typical American diner-style, restaurant with a large menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I believe they serve breakfast all day, but I'm not sure. Sure Anna's isn't the cleanest restaurant or the nicest, but the staff is friendly, the food is cheap, and the portions are big. The eggs and bacon were a little oily for my tastes but they had a good flavor and I enjoyed my breakfast. One thing I liked was that they make their own hashbrowns out of sliced up potatoes. I like those a lot better than the shredded king. I would recommend Anna's and I would eat here again for breakfast.

You came here for the first time seeking breakfast and we found a wide variety both breakfast and lunch as well as dinner items on the menu. The breakfast menu was comprehensive with many awesome choices. I decided to go with the special which was only 5 bucks, hence the reason I've given a four star rating. It was the sausage patties and eggs which came with a huge amount of home fries all of which was done to perfection. My daughter got the kids pancake which was also huge and looked delicious. My wife got the gyro which was so so and the price seems so so too. The only big miss was the strawberry waffle. For eight bucks it should have fresh fruit on it, but instead it came out with its weird jam all over it which just didn't work. However given the price, it seems like a worthwhile place to come back to, but definitely one to seek out the better menu items. Definitely a great value!

This place is a bit of an enigma but I love it! It's location is odd and has an almost cottage like appearance on the outside. Inside it has the feel of a well worn family diner, which it turns out is exactly what it is. Have you ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? It's kind of like that. You get the feeling that 90% of their customers they are on a first name basis with, which I find enchanting. As far as the food goes it isn't anything fancy, but at the same time, they aren't charging you fancy prices. They always seem to have a $4.99 breakfast special which will fill you up no problem. When I told the waitress that the club sandwich sounded good but that I couldn't have the bread she promptly accepted the challenge to build it sans the bread. When I asked her if the kitchen had ever done that before she said no but that it would be their pleasure to try. I like to imagine some old Greek woman in the kitchen staring in disbelief at the request. "Whut do you mean she doesn't want any bread!? It's a sandwich!" Nevertheless, my sandwich arrive beautifully wrapped and perfectly intact. Needless to say, any place that is willing to go to such lengths to make a newbie happy is A-OK in my book.

Maybe we caught them on a bad day. But with so many dining choices, I just can't see a reason to go back again to see if our experience was an anomaly. They were always slow in the past, but everything was fresh and hot. Not today. Our "hot" sandwiches (turkey for Mom and beef for me) weren't. Not only were they just barely warm, the meat and gravy were skimpy and the bread hard (did they toast it then microwave it? We could barely cut it even with the provided steak knives!) The mixed vegetables were mushy and flavorless--steamed to death, but yet still not very warm. On another day, we would have sent the food back and waited for replacements or left, but Mom wasn't feeling great, so we ate what was put before us...which looked delicious, but wasn't.

We have been quite a few times. Great bacon and huge pancakes. Ma and Pa type of restaurant. The service can be slow sometimes and we have actually had to go back into the kitchen to find a waitress. Overall yummy breakfast. We haven't tried lunch or dinner.

In several ways, this particular place represents everything that I hate about restaurants, all neatly rolled into one. I'm almost not sure to start, but let's see...Ocean Spray grapefruit juice? Check. Iceberg lettuce for the salad? Check. Doing these things in view of the dining room? Inexplicably check. So far, nothing too impressive, but nothing necessarily offensive, either. Decor is actually pretty good. This is a very warm and inviting place, with pretty nice woodworking. It was a very comfortable place overall, except for watching them prepare the food (and later, getting a glimpse of one of the filthiest kitchens I've had the misfortune of seeing). The wait staff and hostess were nice and accommodating, though service was a bit disjointed with all the participants, but no complaints there overall. As to the main food items, my wife couldn't eat whatever her vegetable dish was, comparing it unfavorably to something from JB's. It did look nice, however. The pancakes were huge, covering the entire plate and probably the best food item anyone got, but nothing special there. As for me...I got the Zorba thing. The cook came reasonably close (though not quite all the way) to hitting overeasy eggs and the shaved potatoes were interesting looking, though not cooked especially well...further, there was no seasoning on them at all. There was 1 square of melted American process cheese and another of Swiss processed cheese. On top of that was the bacon. Bacon was cooked very well, but then put into the melted processed cheese, which created an unholy cacophony and nearly wrecked the bacon entirely. As the bacon was somewhat average, it had difficulty standing up to all this dreadful nonsense. The biscuits and gravy was near deplorable, tasteless and fatty gravy, again with little to no seasoning and relatively plain-tasting biscuits. Like several other breakfast places, the drinks are excessively priced. Frankly, though this place clearly believes in quantity over quality, the food was overpriced as well, considering what it was. Back to those parts I hate, it's hard to imagine that this breakfast couldn't be recreated in someone's kitchen and probably better. Mine, for instance, definitely better and definitely cheaper (and in a much cleaner environment). So if I feel like I could do it better when I'm at a restaurant, there is zero point in me going to that particular restaurant. Bottom line here is that there is a plethora of other breakfasts places better than this in the city and on the order of several thousand times. I would rather, even for how much I loathe long lines, wait in line at Finn's every day of the week and twice on Sunday before returning to this place. Maybe they do better at lunch or dinner entrees, but if I see a dirty kitchen, there's very little chance that I will be inclined to go back and find out.

When my family and I moved to Millcreek, the fist Saturday here to celebrate getting our house we went to the closest restaurant we could find that served breakfast and that would be Anna's Restaurant. It took a few minutes to be noticed and then another few for someone to wipe down a table to be seated at. I've got to say, this was definitely not what we'd hoped for. The place was dimly lit and had somewhat of a depressing feel to it, although I really did like the design and decor, the place just FELT so desperately sad. It took about fifteen minutes for a waitress to come by the take our order. We were actually considering leaving at the top of the hour if nobody came by. She came to take our order at two minutes til. Still, we tried salvaging the trip, since we were hungry and elated about our new home. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of eggs and toast. My wife ordered strawberry pancakes, and I don't remember what the kids had, it doesn't really matter. The arrival of our food was bittersweet. We were served great big portions, but the gravy on my food was rather runny and the eggs were your basic sysco powdered eggs, typical of hospital cafeterias around the valley. My wife's "strawberry pancake" was merely an eight dollar 8" pancake with strawberry-like syrup. She'd expected maybe a fresh strawberry, not just fructose corn syrup. No matter. We ate what we could and got the hell out of there. Too finish off the morning, we walked over to the sad little k-mart in the same shopping development just to complete the sad little shop and dine experience.

Anna's restaurant is a local diner, yes we serve breakfast all day, type of restaurant in the Murray almost Holladay area inside the I-215 beltway. Its located in the needs a little love shopping center next to the old K-Mart and across from the new Wal-Mart. The exterior of the restaurant may be 30 years old but the inside is warm, clean and moderately remodeled. I'm a huge fan of Anna's breakfast. Matter a fact, I only have eaten breakfast here many many times. Very often I go for lunch and eat breakfast because at Anna's you can do it. They have a Greek flare to their menu which isn't Greek only like many of the Greek family restaurants in Salt Lake. The waitresses are friendly and provide prompt and attentive service and are the same ones each time. I'm sure if you'd like to have a Cheers type breakfast place where everyone knows your name, this would be the place. As far as breakfast is concerned they have the gamut covered. They have lots of omelets and they aren't wimpy 3 egg omelets, they're 4 egg! Man sized! Like pancakes? They have them. Want something unique? Get Zorba's breakfast, its like a scrambler almost that you are responsible for scrambling. I really enjoyed it with the giant ham steak on top. If you're a meat eater, there's a chicken fried steak (CFS) for breakfast. The breading had a unique taste to it that I'd never had before. All the prices are very approachable and as good a value as any chain breakfast joint. So why waste money there and get bad service when you can go to Anna's? I really think south of 33rd this is the best breakfast joint inside of I-215. And also important, they serve fresh brewed iced-tea...

On our way to some boring chain restaurant a few weeks back, my wife and I randomly stopped in at a place we drive by ALL the time - Anna's Restaurant. At 7:00 PM on a weeknight, there were only a few other tables sat in the whole place, which didn't fill us with too much confidence. That said, we sat proudly and ordered - my wife got spaghetti with meat sauce and I got a bacon cheeseburger. Rolls were delivered to the table which were AWESOME. Clearly homemade that morning. Super fresh and great. The spaghetti wasn't bad - it was just what you'd expect when you order spaghetti at a diner. Tasted like something that your non-Italian Mom used to make to feed hordes of hungry mouths. There was a LOT of it - we got 3 meals out of the serving. The burger on the other hand, was amazing. I was hoping mid-roll that the bun would be homemade too... and it was. Super soft, fresh, and just downright awesome. Give this little random place a few of your bucks some night for dinner when you're in a quirky mood and you'll be glad you did. We'll be returning!

Not a bad greasy spoon. They advertise themselves as an 'American' diner, but we all know what that means... Greasy Spoon. $4.99 breakfast is on right now, and it's pretty awesome. Just beware, they charge $2.25 for coffee. Is it just me, or is that kind of high? Anyways, this place is a step up from Dee's in quality and can be cheaper than a Village Inn.

I don't know if they make it in house, or if they buy it, but it's terrific. For lunch/dinner, you can't go wrong with their burgers. First off they are HUGE! I have yet to come close to finishing one. I like the mushroom swiss the best, but fans of the pastrami burger won't be disappointed here. The atmosphere is friendly. I'm a big fan of Anna's and I actually eat here about every other week for lunch when I'm working in the area. The reason for 4 not 5 stars is because the 5 star really depends on what you choose from the menu. Quite a few of the items are total 5 stars and whoa!-- bang for the serious buck. Rule of thumb for me when trying out a new place that I think may be a little dicey, a little, what-have-you, a little, not-sure-what, which is; stick to what you GUESS they are the most familiar with. If I am in a diner I stick with the burgers, the club sandwiches and veer sharply away from the duck confit, ya know? Anna's is no exception to this rule. Sandwiches, burgers, breakfast items are Harry met Sally Yes! Yes! Yes! Lamb and Full plate meals are not the best that they offer. Good not great. They make their own bread and it is chewy and crispy and divine. They make their own soups and I love the Chicken lemon-rice. Yum. They have a Greek burger that can feed at least 2 and it is the dish I recommend to everyone I tell about Anna's. Sort of a signature dish. Homemade bun, juicy burger, slab of feta, fresh tomato, lettuce, all made to order with a side of fries and (on request) fry sauce (the reason I must never leave Utah). Try it. I will bet you one million dollars of this nations deficit, that you will love the Utah Heck out of it!

Take a break from the usual breakfast joint. Anna's is nestled in the Ivy place among the pines and next to the river. This gives it a cozy feel that makes it fun to come back. The food is typical diner fair, with breakfast served all day. I'd say that their hashbrowns are a notch above you average joint's. This is a good place to check out when you have a hankering for bacon & eggs with a cozy nook in which to eat.

I have been eating at Anna's Restaurant for a number of years. It is truly a place for the community to gather. I encounter regulars from all walks of life. The food is home-style, delicious, and you can't beat the prices. All the food is good, but I especially recommend the homemade bread, homemade desserts, breakfast, and any Greek specials. The staff is courteous and attentive, and the owners make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and like family. You are crazy if you don't give it a try.

Value for money this should be a 5 star rating -- $4.99 for bacon, eggs, hash browns -- they do poached eggs, their hash browns were excellent (thin sliced potatoes, cooked extra crispy when I asked -- not sure how crispy they would be normally) -- bacon cooked perfectly. my wifes greek salad was huge

I think the food was good and the people are friendly. I would come back again. I like the coffee. And my wife like her steak. I like my pork chops. You should try this place.
